Although he had his .25 licence with him, he was immediately detained and it took a lot of phonecalls from high ranking govenment officials from Mizoram to get him released!
I fully agree, whenever police gets an excuse to harass a harmless law abiding citizen, they try their best to sensationalize and show that they are doing something "great" to protect the law. And when they have to face real terrorists or criminals, they try their best to avoid getting involved. This cannot be more illustrated than at CST on 26/11 by the statement of a photographer who took photographs of terrorists. ("There were armed policemen hiding all around the station but none of them did anything," he said. "At one point, I ran up to them and told them to use their weapons. I said, 'Shoot them, they're sitting ducks!' but they just didn't shoot back.") Ref: http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/ ... 086308.ece
