No harm as long as the cartridges are loaded to official specification. The Czechoslovak surplus, which you are unlikely to encounter, MAY be loaded to higher pressure, a claim no one has verified. Commercial S&B Tok ammo is going to be loaded to the specified level.
The Mauser pistol was fairly rare in the US until surplus pistols were imported from China. These were well used guns and most of them had weak main springs; often assembled with parts from different guns. In other words, guns that should not have been shot without being reconditioned. I doubt that your pistol is in such sad state, or has been fired thousands of rounds.
Cheers.

Guys apologies.... No offence was intended .. i was certainly not clear as there were so many opinions... No disrespect to our experts and all the info is appreciated. thanks.. Another question.. is Sellier and berlot any better than tokarev... the reason i ask is i have about 60 cartridges 10 being tokarev and rest Sellier and berlot.. should i just trash em or can i use em... and never buy anything but proper 7.63 in future.??

You may be able to exchange your 7.62x25 S&B ammo with a dealer (depending on condition/age) for the 7.63 Mauser ammo. People like me are finding it difficult even to find 7.62x25 ammo so dont trash it.

If your S&B is commercial ammo, not military surplus, and will chamber in your Mauser, there is absolutely no reason not to use it in your C96. The Tokarev has a 0.002" longer L1 (base to shoulder junction) length than the Mauser cartridge. That could possibly cause a chambering problem if your C96 has a minimum chamber. My own has never had a problem with any of the Tok surplus now available, Bulgarian and Rumanian, nor with commercial S&B. Cheers.

I've had a couple of instances of 'failure to go into battery' using fiocchi ammo in a Tok, settled with a thump of the palm.
But have no probs with Tok ammo in a broomhandle mauser, fed flawlessly.
lots of good advice up there, esp with Eastern block ammo.Give it a good cleaning. But unless you have an exploded dia and explicit take down knowledge, DONT try to take it apart! an SLR or LMG its not

mauser ammo is available, i have bought close to 3000 rounds in the last month alone. if you want to reserrch the difference in the ammo, start with researching your gun, any of the wb sights on the C-96 mauser will help, they all warn about using tok ammo in these guns, a good websight on mausers is www.1898 mauser.com, and www.g6csy.net/c96/ammo. they both give reloading data and mauser ammo and tok ammo and give comparisons.
My c-96 is a ww1 gun built in 1916, it is complete with a matching sholder stock-mauser stamped and a leather holster frame. remember guys these things are expensive and parts are very hard to get, you want to use crap ammo or tok stuff in it and risk hurting yourself or damaging you gun, be my guest, i will be glad to buy any servicable parts afterwards that aren't damaged.
remember this is a friendly sight so there is no reason to get into any childhood pissing matches on here.
good searches that produce results are
www.midway usa.com 30 mauser- they do stock the ammo and have new brass for reloading
graf and sons also has mauser ammo in stock- $19.39 a box of 50
and try www.ammonow.com, several distributors listed carrying 30 mauser ammo

You obviously have overlooked the fact that this forum is located in India. What's available in the US has no bearing on what a fellow can find in India, with its import restrictions and restrictive laws.
What makes you think that everything presented on the web is factual? Any semi-literate with access to a computer can post whatever he wants. The web has no fact filter that keeps everything but facts out. Any nonsense and misinformation can be posted. "I saw it on the web" tells us something about the person saying it, but not the truth of the matter. CIP and CIP Standards are fact, and are what all manufacturers in the signator countries have to adhere to by law. Adherence is mandatory; not optional and voluntary as with our S.A.A..M.I. Fact, not some one's opinion based on lack of knowledge and conjecture. The Russians should know what pressure their ammo is loaded to. And yes, all countries that are part of the CIP agreement use the same procedures and standards.
So, it's not about "childhood pissing matches", but verifiable facts vs. conjecture based on ignorance.
Finally, use capitals as well as lower case letters when posting on this forum. Follow the rules or leave.
