Colt woodsman pistol

Dear friends, gurus , mods
Need your advice as i am being offered a colt woodsman pistol with a 2" barrel which as per my knowledge, I haven't seen one apart from 4, 1/2" and 6" barrel. I will be seeing this pistol in 2 to 3 days time. Hope You guys can shed some light on this wheter it is an orignal or altered from 4,1/2"or 6" to 2". I checked up quite a few sites with the help of google but could not come up with the information.

One of the most accurate pistols I have ever seen and shot. The one I am talking about was the 1st generation model with flexible spring loaded front sight probably made in early 1920s.. However, I doubt if it was ever made in 2" barrel configuration. I am sure an experienced eye would be able to recognize the telltale signs if at all the barrel has been chopped. Also, the loss of velocity will be a great disadvantage and will defeat the very purpose this pistol was intended for, i.e. for small game and general plinking.

I`m a long-time Woodsman fan Happy and have owned three or four series two and three target models......which, in my opinion at least, are amongst the most elegant looking pistols ever produced.
The bad news is that - as far as I know - there has NEVER been a 2" barrelled Huntsman. The model with the shortest barrel - in all three series - was the Sport which had a 4 1/2" barrel.
My advice would be not to touch the pistol with a bargepole as the barrel has been severely cut-down.
Apart from the fact that the value of the pistol is virtually nothing the muzzle velocity will be pathetic as has been said above.
