M1911 Gas Gun

Post by mundaire » Tue Jan 08, 2008 6:56 am

Recently borrowed the December 2002 issue of combat handguns from a friend, and it had a rather interesting article about a new "gas gun" kit for M1911 pistols. The product was being built and marketed by NCG (Network Custom Guns), and while the magazine article extrolled its virtues and made it seem like the next best thing after sliced bread a search on Google revealed that it was a failure and that NCG was probably out of business as a result... there is a particularly poor review here - http://www.m1911.org/prodte20.htm

But it seems like their one of their former partner co's (KG coatings) is now going ahead with this design see - http://www.kgcoatings.com/news.html AND http://www.kgcoatings.com/KG%20Gas%20Gun%20Flyer.pdf

Now that last item seems to be of 2005 vintage... anyone have a clue if this new and much improved version of the 1911 "gas gun" system is out in the market and more importantly does it actually work reliably?

Cheers!

If it could work... and work well... would be a really neat bit of kit, now wouldn't it? ;)
