Re: Victor Pistol - Polymer Striker Fired 32ACP
Was looking at the pictures of the Victor closely and noticed that on the website the slide release is proper Glock style but actual guns being sold in the market has a small & weird slide release. Mr. Dhillon and others, can you confirm if this is easy to operate or takes some effort?
Many thanks

There are no problems in slide release and can be pressed with thumb of the hand holding the gun

I didn’t like so many cuts in the slide. They will allow dust to go in. Atleast company should give option of slide without these cuts.

I agree. This is one of those "gee whiz" things that Rambo type movie watchers fawn over. I would think that, in everyday carry, it would mandate cleaning the gun often due to lint and fuzz, besides dirt as Vineet mentions, fairly often, especially if one carries in an inside the waistband holster or in some kind of pocket.
It is an unfortunate design detail that lessens the utility of what might otherwise be a good choice for everyday carry.

Not a big fan either, but what I am hearing is... the cuts on the Victor are there to reduce the weight of the slide. Victor's slide is of similar size and shape (therefore I am assuming similar weight) of a Glock 19, which fires a 9mm round. 9mm can rack an uncut slide but a .32 needs a lighter reciprocating mass to cycle properly. Makes logical sense to me. The dust and debris getting in also makes sense.timmy wrote: ↑Fri Feb 07, 2025 1:50 pmI agree. I am seeing a boat load of content on Canik SFX rival, Combat etc. on YouTube and people are going Ga Ga over them. They have slide cuts on them too
Veterans, please add your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

I don't think that this is something to get too excited over. I wouldn't prefer cuts, as I said, because in an everyday carry situation, it would cause too much dirt retention. Besides, the cuts aren't the only way to save weight. But, if a person pays attention and spends the extra time these cuts may add to a cleaning routine, then they won't impair the gun's usefulness for the purpose.
I do have to say that I don't care for the spaceship look of some modern guns, but that's only a matter of taste, not of usefulness.
Regarding Canik, yes, they do have the "space guns" with the slide vents and other gee-whiz features that are inspired by competition guns. Most of their guns are based on a single basic design, from which variations and higher prices flow. There are single action pistols, and double action ones. There are variations in sights and provisions for optical sights, there are compact models and long barrel models.
The one I got is toward the basic end, but not quite the bottom. It's certainly in the lower half, if not the lower third of the prices in the market. The purpose the one I got is to be a tool that I can use for everyday carry. I don't want to lose it, but it won't devastate me if it is confiscated in connection with some incident, because it didn't cost a tremendous amount. It's not, on the other hand, at the bottom of the barrel like some HiPoint zinc blob, or as cheap as some others. It gets high ratings for its trigger and its reliability. i have found these views to be true in my own experience.
Also, some folks are anti-Turk. I'm not.
Regarding Caniks, if someone wants to by the ventilated slide model, or some other more glamorous model, more power to them. I'm satisfied that what I have will do its job and have been carrying it for about a year now with no complaints, either on the belt or on the range.

On an internet search, there is this company called Werywin Corporation in Youngsville, NC. They are manufacturers. There are a couple of more Glock clone manufacturers in the USA, but I wonder why they have not put a safety arrangement in the handgun; otherwise, it is a copy of Glock 19!!!
