Idea for Fictional Revolver

Post by kanzakibullet » Thu Jul 25, 2024 11:30 am

Hello everyone!

I had an interesting idea for a revolver that I wanted to share. Since it is more common for revolvers to be chambered in large pistol calibers like .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum, etc. I thought if there is a revolver chambered in a modern rifle caliber. Now there are revolvers in .22 LR and .45-70. But, nothing in a modern rifle round like 5.56x45mm NATO or 7.62x39mm or .300 Blackout. So, I was thinking why anyone doesn't make a revolver in .300 Blackout subsonic rounds for the civilian market. It would have the appeal of a big gun, in an interesting caliber, that being subsonic won't be as noisy as supersonic rounds are. You could even offer a suppressed variant.

For the design, I was thinking something of the swing-out barrel with a manual safety that locks the hammer in place. Also, I was thinking of a concealed hammer so that the revolver doesn't get caught on one's clothes when carrying it. It will have an all-steel frame to give weight and strength to handle the .300 Blackout and give the feeling of 'big gun'. Pairing it with a 6-inch barrel and 5 rounds including one in the chamber.

Of course I don't have the means to build one. It's just an idea, what do you guys think?
