Pakistani Tokarev Pistol in 7.62x25
Gentlemen:
I came across this Pakistani Tokarev Pistol in 7.62x25 last night, while searching through the sites of surplus arms dealers.
I have seen informally made weapons for sale before, such as so-called Khyber Pass rifles, but this is the first time I have seen arsenal-made guns for sale. I am noting that these are modified from the original TT33 design by the inclusion of a safety, which, in these pistols, is totally useless, but is required to import the guns into the USA.
I wonder, do pistols made for the Pakistani market include a safety, as well?
If they are all made this way, I would suspect that the design information originally came from China, where the Norinco version of the TT33 has this safety. However, when I look on the POF website, I don't see any reference to civilian arms at all. Does anyone know how these guns are sold in Pakistan?

You go to a gun shop.
Select a weapon/weapons.
Pay cash.
Take it/them home.

Entries to these areas is restricted ..you need special permission. I have friends in Pakistan who own Kalashnikovs legally. They need to apply for a permit and thats it .

Thank you both, Doc and Vineet -- very interesting! The Pakistan link shows the same safety as the Norinco 213 uses. I have some more searching to do!

My Pakistan friends and co-workers too said that they can own Kalashnikov and most of them already do.
As some cultures (mostly all Indians) give their family gifts from their first salary. Pakistanis working in Gulf buy Kalashnikov as gift.
And a friends says, camera phone has become a mess there. He's says "ladki ka photo lete hua koi dekhliye, tho samaj lo jaldi hi goli naseeb mein hai".
