Got a new animal

Post by thesinfulsaint » Fri Jan 03, 2014 10:37 pm

I picked up this POS 22LR (Rough Rider by Heritage Arms) for plinking. The looks and finish leave a lot to be desired but it functions flawlessly. I've fed it all kinds of ammo from 720 FPS to 1620 FPS. And all brands (Federal, Remington,CCI, Blazer, American Eagle, Winchester etc.) jacketed and lead round nose ... no problem. That's what I like about wheel guns, not much to go wrong and if it fits, it shoots.

I know its a POS but hey ... can't go wrong for $99

Not every tool is shiny and fancy -- if it works, why not? This would be handy handgun for the glovebox or a nice motorcycle ride, I think.

Rough riders mustn't worry much about finish ;-)

Rough Riders aren't bad little guns for the money. I have fired one and the action is smooth and they seem to work well.
Congratulation on your new purchase. How does she shoot?
Could you do a little range report for us? Thanks.

yes timmy it is pretty handy and functional, have not had one single failure yet. Great for small pests and general plinking.

XL, she shoots great, no problem with any ammo, haven't tried CBs yet. I was shooting at 25 yds and had a great grouping on a silhouette target, I don't have the pic but am going to range this weekend and will have the target :D
