The list though very extensive is more confusing, for examplefarook wrote:
at no 7 on the NPB list he says 7.62 is N.P further on 108 PB he says 7.62 Nato is P,on 30 MI Carbine is both P & N.P,38 SPC is N.P,trying getting it endorsed on a N.P License & see, ,they will through you in the slammer so fast--------,think the USP of BABUDOM is create so much confusion that the normal guys are also as confused as them.No wonder our nation is in such a great confusion.
PS Dear DNAGNEE IMHO,plz dont invest money in a 30,you sure as hell arnt gonna get it cheap, buy a 380/32,atleast you are safe.Best Amit

Re: 7.62 pistol
Well, so do the rest of us. "Star" was a Spanish pistol manufacturer, now out of business. If so. which model? Or, are you calling it a "star" pistol because it has the communist star emblem on the grip? You are not providing enough information to give you an answer.DNAGNEE wrote:amit357

I believe its one step closer, I am sure they are working on it...For now we should stop finding faults in it and use what ever info they have given...It has been discussed many times on this forum that buying anything apart from a 32 would be a dead investment...

Re: 7.62 pistol
My dear Dna,the BABUDOM has done its job,you are as confused as they want you to be,the STAR you refer to is the "DESI" interpretation of the original 30 TT,it was a RUSSIAN pistol, the ***** cloned it ,{it was cloned by a lot of countries in the IRON CURTAIN},i am not sure if STAR the Spanish co made the 7.62 x 25,you can always check, but as a member quoted that factory is closed,7.62/30 was basically an Eastern European cal, thats why i was referring it to as 30.Best AmitDNAGNEE wrote:amit357

Re: 7.62 pistol
DNAGNEE: please refer back to the post from Two Rivers. Your question is simply not explicit enough to answer. Please provide more information about the gun in question, or provide a picture.
As he notes in his post, there is a Spanish-made pistol called a "Star." Many Star pistols were made in .32 ACP caliber, which is sometimes called 7.65x17mm.
There are also Soviet-made Tokarev TT30 and TT33 pistols in 7.62x25 Tokarev. Many of these were made with a large star on the grips, and may also be referred to as a "Star."
As has been noted, the list linked to this thread is not accurate. For instance, one could say that the "7.62 MM Pistol" refers to 7.62x25, and one could say that the ".30 Bore Pistol" refers to the 7.62x25, or in either or both cases, they may not. The designations on the list are too inaccurate to tell, especially if you are depending on the information to avoid legal difficulties.
Incidentally, the Tokarev TT30 was the predecessor of the TT33, both of which are Soviet designs introduced in those years. The TT33 was a modified version and was the dominant model produced. After World War 2, the Soviet Union gave technical expertise and tooling to other Communist countries for producing the TT33 (not the TT30) as a gesture of "international solidarity."
When the Soviet Union adopted the Makarov Pistol as their service arm, they exported the TT33 to other Communist countries, just like they exported the obsolescent Mosin Nagant and SKS rifles to Communist countries after they adopted the AK47. In this sense, the TT33 versions made outside of the Soviet Union (as well as Mosin Nagant and SKS rifles) are not "clones" which are products made as a copy from examining an existing product. Instead, the TT33s were made with the technical help and sometimes tooling provided by the Soviet Union to nations like Poland, Hungary, Yugoslavia, China, and North Korea. "Clones" would apply to TT33 copies made in India and Pakistan by informal weapons manufacturers.
You may find this link instructive regarding the TT30 and TT33: http://imageevent.com/willyp/russiansov ... evvariants
Of course, there is always Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TT_pistol
If you would like better help regarding your question, you will need to provide us with more information, as Two Rivers suggested.

7.62 x 25 ammo is available with few dealers in north India for around Rs. 200 a pop.
Those available are hollow point from Ppu and FMJ from S&B.
