Percussion pistol made in Sweden

Post by Spedini » Wed Feb 27, 2013 9:17 pm

This pistol was made by a local gunsmith in Sweden many years ago.It was his own invention and l believe he sold about 2000 of them. They have smoothbore 9mm barrels.

Thanks Spedini,

Can you please us how to load and fire this weapon? I am curious.
Also, how does the government in Sweden conduct safety tests etc. on firearms made by individuals for commercial venture or personal use ?

Hello TC

These pistols are not safety tested and there are no markings on them, probably because they were intended for blackpowder only.
To shoot the pistol you load it from the muzzle with blackpowder and patched roundball. After that you have to pull the"hammer" the back portion of the pistol and put a cap on,thats all. These are very simple pistols really.

Thanks Spedini,
The pistol appears pretty basic and unsafe i.e. to the user. Putting in a cap must be pretty tricky too for people with big fingers. But if they are working fine then our gunsmith must have done a good job.
