New To My Collection

Pietro Beretta…Gardone V.T Made In Italy. 7.65mm (.32 Auto), Model 81BB (12+1). It has 3.8” Blued Barrel with 2 (12) shot Magazines.

The Beretta model 1934 is a compact, semi-automatic pistol which was issued as ... in most respects, except that it fired a .32 ACP (7.65 mm Browning) cartridge.

Operation: short – recoil, semiautomatic, double – action / single – action.

Beretta Model 81BB, 84BB and 84Fs semiautomatic pistol

These Beretta models are among the Beretta medium – frame pistols marketed under the name Cheetah. Although of greater magazine capacity than the Models 82 & 85, Model 81BB & 84BB are derivatives of Models 81 & 84 and resemble them in most essential features Model 81BB is in 7.65mm, and the Model 84BB is in 9mm short. 81BB & 84BB are Double – action pistols, incorporating double – column detachable box magazine (12-round capacity in the Model 81BB, 13-round capacity in the Model 84BB). Loaded –chamber indicator, reversible magazine release button, stripping catch arrangement (as described for Model 81) and a manual safety operable from either side of the weapon. The safety system is as described for the Models 82BB & 85BB. A magazine safety, acting on the trigger mechanism when the magazine is removed, is optional.

The Model 84FS, now known as Model 84FS Cheetah, is similar to the BB series but has the additional feature of a hammer de-cocking facility, operated by the safety catch. Pressing the safety catch will allow the hammer to fall safely on to an interceptor bar, lock the slide and disconnect trigger and sear.

The front and back straps of the grip are longitudinally grooved to ensure a firm holds in wet conditions or during rapid firing. Plastic grips are optional. It is also available in a limited deluxe series featuring gold-plated hammer and trigger, Walnut grips and blued or gold-plated finish.

Beretta Model 82BB, 83FS, 85BB, 87BB and 87BB/LB semiautomatic pistols

These Beretta pistols are derivatives of the Model 81 & 84, and in most of the essential features, they are the same. The Model 82BB is in 7.65 x 17mm SR, while the 83FS, the 85BB and the 85FS are in 19x17mm and the 87BB and the 87BB/LR are in .22LR caliber. For a general description, reference should be made to the entry for the Beretta 7.65 x 17mm Model 81 Pistol.

These Beretta models are among the Beretta medium-frame pistols marketed under the name Cheetah. The differences between these models and model 81 are as follows.

BB Models

The Main Differences are the loaded-chamber indicator, the magazine capacity and the safety system.
Loaded-chamber indicator – A pin projects laterally from the slide to indicate when a round is in the chamber. This pin is colored red and it gives both a visual and a tactile indication.
Magazine capacity – The magazine is singlecolumn only, so allowing a lighter and thinner grip. This favors the smaller hand and also makes the pistols easier to conceal.

Small Arms indication – Magazine capacity – the magazine is single-column only, so allowing a lighter and thinner grip. This favors the smaller hand and also makes the pistols easier to conceal.

New safety system – this is really divided into 4 sections – the manual safety breaks the connection between the trigger and the sear, the firing pin is permanently locked until the last stage of the trigger pull when it is released, the firing pin is operated by inertia and so there is no direct contact with the primer, there is a half-cock position. It is worth noting that these pistols can be fired from the half-cock position by simply pulling the trigger to raise and drop the hammer.

Congrats Amit, this is possibly the best 7.65 mm Beretta after the alloy frames were introduced by the company.

Congratulations! If you don't mind me asking, how much did you end up paying for this?

Congratulations, Amit.
That is a very nice pistol.
