Some artillery piece? Could be a punt gun, only the loops are missing. Whatever it is, I would also like to see the guy firing it and HOW?
Ahh! I got it, its a sawn off shotgun!

Can't wait to hear about your latest adventure, Vikram! I would love to have a punt gun, myself. When in Montana, I noticed something similar: an 8 gauge shotgun like device that was used to blast up a factory chimney to clear out the deposits on the chimney walls. The shell looked like a huge 10 gauge.
Please don't keep us waiting too long!!

Looks like a goose gun, 12 Gauge for 3.5" magnum shells. I have a friend who owns a similar piece.

Sawbones,
Punt guns are generally huge bored guns with relatively short stubby barrels to spread a big quantity of shots in order to kill dozens of birds in one shot. Most were black powder muzzle loaders and a few later on went smokeless as well.
This one seems to be special order kink of a certain Redneck or an English market hunter to me. The smith must have smirked all the time while making it for him.
