can anyone tell me what is the fire range of indian ordnance 12 bore pump action gun..??

The same as a single barrel 12 ga shotgun with a 20" barrel.And no,it will not send a man flying into the air.

12 bore pump action guns do not have choke(cylinder choke), hence percentage of shot in a 76 cm (30 in) circle at 37 m (40 yd) will be around 40, hence "effective" range for pellet shot can be said to be around 20 yd. For slugs, it should be around 40-50 yd, beyond that slug would still be dangerous, but will not be accurate. Ref:

Thanks for pointing out, it is not just pump actions, generally all shot guns(including pump action) with 20" or less barrel length do not have inbuilt choke. Since IOF pump action has 20" barrel, it is very unlikely it will have a inbuilt choke. Needs to be confirmed by someone who has IOF pump action. Pump actions with barrels longer than 20" are generally found with inbuilt/detachable chokes just like SBBL/DBBls with barrels longer than 20".

I shoot slugs out of my Pump Action Maverick to 100 Meters without an issue. Then again it has a rifled barrel.

Hellboy: Keep in mind, though, that "effective range" for a shotgun means enough pattern density to kill a flying bird, not actual range or ability to wound. Also, the larger the shot size, the farther it will carry and penetrate. Number 5 shot, for instance, will penetrate human skin at 300 meters. Choke will affect the pattern, not the velocity or actual range of individual pellets. Cheers.
