Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.

Sniper,
That is a very classy looking gun and seems to be in good condition despite the age.Are you planning to refinish it,especially the stock, at any point of time? Good shooting.
Best-
Vikram

The proof marks on the barrels are Liege proof house, Belgium... Considering that Geco was a German brand I would have thought that they would have sourced guns from German makers... Good buy, should serve you well, for many years to come
Cheers!

Mundaire, not necessarily. Geco was a retailer, not manufacturer, of guns; and would have sourced wherever they could be obtained more cheaply. There were many Belgian shotguns sold in Germany, carrying the name of German retailers. Usually plain Jane box lock doubles. Functional, but nothing to be proud of. Cheers.
