I have a Fusil Robust 12guage double barrel shotgun (made in France). Its mechanism body ,the trigerguard, the triger has bluish patches or tinges on the surface which is a typical finish of robust shotguns which is not bluing . it is some different kind of finish .The only part of my gun which has bluing is the barrel . can anyone tell me what the finish or finishing methord called ?

Welcome to IFG.
Does the colour pattern look like this?

If yes, it's called "Case colouring". For more info, please go through these links.

If you could post a few photographs of your gun, that will be more helpful. Hang around and post often.
Best-
Vikram

vikrant it is called bone charcol case hardning and there are 2-3 people in jammu who can do this type of color case hardning , Hot caustic bluing is good for shotgun you can try that but with some experienced hand. It gives mirror type finnish .
