i saw this amazing copy of winchester M1887 lever-action shotgun made by shaktiman. could someone please provide me with the manufacturer's contact add , phone number anything. i am really want to buy this shotgun. i sold my other shout gun for this one. this one is a 5 shot with i think 1 in the chamber. i have cancelled all plans of buying a pump action or semi shotgun.

If I were you , I would think and then rethink regarding buying the firearm in question . Please don't get biased by the magazine capacity , a good double should work well for most "situations". Shaktiman shotguns do not have a good reputation and require a lot of repairs very early after usage. This so called "amazing copy" of Winchester M1887 might be a very poor substitute IMHO.

wanted to know what is IMHO, also i called the factory up in bellary the said they are coming up with a better model in another 5 months so i will wait. doc after u fire this one and the way it loads and everything, also taking into consideration its size, its amazing.
i might have made my mind of sought s.

will do. give about 6 months give a take a few weeks or else i will buy a IOF pump action.

i have a hunch that u might be right. cause the Indian cartridges might get jammed but still i have my hopes up.

this the gun i want to buy and get bluing done along with maybe some decoration work if possiable.

Was not aware 12bores other than SSBL's and DBBLs were allowed for manufacture in the country.

...and since they are at it, why the hell don't they manufacture a decent pump-action?... instead of wasting time and effort in obsolete designs....

my grand pa used to own London make clutch action, I don't understand what these Guys have to do with these obsolete wepons , CC guide them about semiautos & pump actions.

i have talked to Sarhadi arms in mani majara(Chandigarh) and i was told to wait for 5 months for the winchester M1887 lever-action gun .
i wanted a pump action but the prices are really high and IOF has stopped making their pump actions and Winchesters' guns are above my current pocket.
i saw a really good one at Vishal arms chandigarh but could not afford it .
i saw alot of trench guns in Chandigarh, to name a shop Ahuja arms near "housing board chownk" mani majra.

ps: please guide to good pump actions near Haryana, Chandigarh or a good semi.

I am having winchester model 12 , 6 plus one mag capacity , after doing survey for six months i freezed on this . IOF pump action is alloy body ,barrel gets red hot after 2 to 3 shots and tends to jam . Remington 870 is best in class with loads of accessories avaliable abroad but nothing beats WINCHESTER MODEL 12 if you can get in good working condiction ,this genuine classic pump action feels that it can last for life time . THIS is purely out of my experience and liking and people may differ. cheers James...

Good number of winchester model 12 is doing rounds in India market , need to call or visit different dealers .James...

I just wanted to add a little anecdote about the Model 12.
When I was 19 or 20 and studying for my BSc, I stayed with some family friends on their farm. There were five brothers and they loved to shoot trap. I was invited to join their team and at the time didn't own a gun or have very much money to buy shells. We worked out a deal where I would use their reloading press and their materials and reload shells for the whole team. They would allow me to use one of their shotguns and all the shells I could fire. Seemed like a sweet deal. I reloaded shells that summer and for four others summers after that. I shot trap with them all those years and we won a lot of local trophies and even went to the state shoot but we weren't successful there.

After we came home from the trap club everyone would put their shotguns in the gun rack. Because I enjoyed being around firearms, i would fondle, er, clean all the shot guns. There was an old model 12 in the rack and I was told that it was jammed and didn't work. The thing about the model 12 was that you could hold the trigger down and pump it and it would fire every time. I tired racking the slide but it was really jammed. I decided to put it on one of the tables to disassemble it and see if I could find the problem. I picked it up by the barrel and as my hands were slippery with oil, it slipped out of my hand and started dropping butt first. I bent over to pick it up and as the butt hit the floor, it went off about six inches from my ear. I had put a hole in the ceiling and had to run downstairs where everyone was looking at me wide eyed. The problem was that some BB's had escaped from a loose crimp and lodged in the action. I was able to restore it to working order but I was always leery of it after that.

A salutary lesson. I forgot the first rule of gun safety: "all guns are loaded, always". In a way, I'm glad that happened because I never forgot the lesson or having to pick those gunpowder grains out of my ear.

Wow, that is a chilling story! One simply cannot be too careful about following safe gun handling procedures.
