Generally it is observed that barrels of Indian made DBBL gets heated up after firing 4 or 6 rounds in 12 bore gun ,i had faced this problem in Reminton make old pump action gun also but good English gun like Greener ,Holland ect ,even after firing more than 40 shots the barrel is in tolarable condiction . Is there any new INDIAN DBBL in market which can match English stuff or is there any chemical that can reduce this heating-up. Cheers James...

James ,

I have an Indian shotgun (Imperial) & an Imported (Baikal)
The barrels of both heat up depending on how many shells are fired in what time frame but its really not an issue in terms of affecting the performance of any other such thing and the barrels cool off also pretty quick. In fact the Baikal has got vents to dissipate the heat.

Cheers Rohit.

Is there any truth in some of the claims regarding the solder between Indian made DBBL barrels coming loose?

Rusty ,

I have been using my Indian (Imperial) shotgun for a while now and i bought this in 1995 and i have no complaints whatsoever.
On an avg i have put approx 5000shells thru it as yet and these incl both comp shells nd kf's.
Its got 26" barrels (cylinders) and shoots well although its a bit heavy.
Does tend to rust pretty fast if not cared for but what i do is "massage" it well wth one of those viscous looking engine oils and store it in huge sealed plastic bags which go into the shotgun sleeve.
It seems to have worked well as yet....

Cheers Rohit.

Fired 25 consecutive shots through dad's Moderns' O/U...'bout 3 mnths back...I observed that the barrel got really hot after 15 shots but I still continued...after 25, I could feel the heat on my hands a bit but after 15 mins the barrel was touchable...I was told by a cousin before I started firing that after 15 shots, the metal parts would expand and I would have difficulty while openin the gun but nothing of this sort happened, the barrel easily went down even after the 25th shot...I used Shaktimaan cartridges...maybe if I use imported ones like Federal or Rottwhile it might not get so hot (N my dad would shoot me for wasting them shootin towards the clouds)...I have heard that subsonic cartridges are quiter and cooler and do give so much recoil...but havent been lucky enough to try some...Does anyone have experience about subsonic rounds...

All u guys seem to have 2 shotguns.
1 imported & the other a desi.

Thats fair enough. Use the Indian one in winters when it's really cold & the firangi one could be kept for the summers

sounds cool....!!!

Not only that, but I know for a fact that mouse pee wears off the bluing rather quickly. I imagine any type of urine applied to a barrel hot enough to make it sizzle would leave permanent staining of the finish.

you can have a fan that blows cool air into the chamber when you eject. by the time you reload thenext shell the chamber will cool off a littel... indigenous?? or genius ?? you decide

LOL. Diskaon
& the saftey lock can deactivate the fan.
The batteries can be conceled in a hollow in the butt.

Dont give up on this one diskaon - With 'global warming" around the corner, we would all need cool guns.

Any ideas for handguns.
