the making of a small double puntgun

laid on the workshop floor , at this point i was bored so i put it down for a while

You built this yourself??!!
At what range did you regulate the barrels?
Look forward to the rest of the pictures...
BTW - what's the law in UK regarding building your own guns? Do you need a prior permit/ license of some kind?

the barrels pattern superb at 70 yards , now have a look at this !

this is where i test patterned the gun against a ply board so we could check it out
i forgot to mention ,........i served my time as a tool maker in the aircraft industry

Some really nice pictures there... Since a lot/ most of it represents your own sweat and skill, it must be double the pleasure to shoot as well... (ok ok lousy pun!)

Hi John,
Some very interesting pictures there.Good to know that you make your own guns.How long would it take to build a punt gun for you?Many thanks for sharing the pictures.

depends how much time i want to devote to the job vikram ,.....to make the shells ,wad punches and all the accompanying accesories , plus the actual gun may take about 160 hours , then the trip to birmingham , which i dread ,(british traffic),....

there are some puntgun shells ,the bigest , is for my big gun , then the next is for my sixteen ounce gun ,.
these are paper cases that i make using a mandrill, then they are wrapped with a material called "fablon" ,.
(plastic) ,.........the brass case is what is used in my double gun , note the smaller 12 bore cartridges at the bottom of picture
there is also a ruler to give an idea of scale
