Advise regarding PAG

Hi gun gurus,
I have applied for AL for SBBL/DBBL/PAG. I'm told it will be issued in 1-2days. Its for home defense/personal defense purpose only. I have nill practical knowledge about guns hence my quandry. I intend to purchase IOF PAG. My query is " is IOF PAG reliable" for self/home defense ? Please advise, and give your suggestions.
