Single shot's are one of my favorite as my first shotgun was a single Stevens 94. I have a few single shots and love them.
Nothing can beat a single shot for versatility...see some interesting videos by Dave....

Simple little tricks like this are forgotten and must be relearned.
It also works to hold a couple shells between the fingers of the off hand.
