Another one from a time when wood and blued steel was the only option, I am sure she will find some admirers here.

Its a Browning Diana/Grade V Superposed 2 barrel set made in 1958. It comes with a pair of 30" barrels and 26" barrels. Both barrels are serial numbered to the gun and marked 1 & 2, have their own for-arms with matching engraving.

The action is signed by Felix Funken who was Browning's chief engraver during that period.

Unlike the current Browning's which are made in Miroku Japan, the superposed's (B25's) are still made in Belgium in their custom shop.

Hi Herb,
Thanks for sharing this 'exquisite beauty' of engineering & artistry!
Belgians are well-known for creating such masterpieces - an exemplary match between wood & metal!
Its the best 'Family Heirloom' one can possess!!!!!
Cheers
Briha

Beautiful shotgun with very nice engraving Herb, thanks for sharing. (y) :)

Is this a recent acquisition or have you been hiding it away all this while ;)

What are the chokes on the two sets of barrels? I'm guessing that the longer barrels would have tighter chokes?

I was told by a friend that besides Miroku (Japan) some Brownings are also being made in Portugal these days. Not sure of the details though.

I have had it for a couple of months but never got around to taking pictures.

Its a custom order gun as most Diana's had game scene engraved on the trigger guard but this one has a name engraved surrounded by scroll. The shorter barrels are choked for skeet & the longer ones are tighter choked for trap.

Yes I have heard too that the Winchester / Browning are now made in Portugal. I recently picked up a 2015 shot show special short action Winchester Model 70 super-grade in .308 with very nice wood. the barrels are marked Made in Portugal.

Regards,
Herb
