To find the size of lead ball a basic formal used is

(17- Shot No X)/100 gives us the size of the lead ball in inch.

e.g. For Shot 1 shells it would be

(17-1)/100= 0.16 inch

Problem being, shot size designation varies from country to country. It is not universal. What is size "1" shot here is not size "1" there.
