Pump Action Gun of IOF

Post by psm » Mon Nov 19, 2012 8:45 pm

Any Body is having idea whether PAG of IOF is open to common license holder?

In IOF site GCF, Jabalpur is advertising this with the price tag of Rs. 63,250/- plus taxes.

If your license says NPB Shotgun or SBBL etc. you can surely purchase any pump action shotgun(provided the barrel length is not less than twenty inches) including IOF pump action shotgun from market. But I don't think IOF is presently selling it's pump action shotgun to arms dealers or license holders. It is said that MHA has written some illegal letter to IOF to stop selling pump action shotguns to arms dealers or license holders.

The question is if it is not for civil trade and if I can take a guess, is also not being used by law enforcement agencies, then who can purchase it or for whom it is being manufactured.

On a separate note, it is worthwhile to mention that PAG is also on display in OFB Stall at Trade Fair, 2012. On enquiry, the official seem to have no clue either about it.

IOF is certainly not selling the pump action to arms dealers and I was told, when I went out to buy one two months ago, that is not manufactured any more.
Very confusing but nobody seemed to know more than that.

IOF had earlier sold some pump action shotguns in the civilian market but at present is not selling them. The official reason for this can be ascertained by doing an RTI with IOF. After that if someone is interested can also pursue the matter in High Court.
