Can I use this shotgun for Trap and Skeet Shooting ?
KelTec KSG Shotgun:
It says it's Caliber is 12 gauge 3” .
The Link is -
http://www.keltecweapons.com/our-guns/shotguns/ksg/
Please go to the link and read about the shotgun. It's only a few lines.
I really like this one.It has good looks too.
The Barrel is 18.5".It says it's Caliber is 12 gauge 3”.What is the meaning of
' 12 gauge 3” ' ?
Now,as far as I know 12/16 Gauge Shotgun with a Barrel-Length not more than 20 inches is probably allowed in India.
So,can I use it here?

No. And, even in US, I doubt if any range allows it on the clays filed.
Before, you choose the gun, you may do well by reading a bit about trap and skeet disciplines and the guns required to shoot with any level of proficiency.

Not necessarily always. I understand what you meant to say. Trap, skeet and soprting clays are shot with pumps, semis and singles/unsingles too. Different rules apply to different official sporting disciplines.

yes i know you can you use smooth bore including semi auto up to 12 gauge in ISSF events but your allowed to load only 2 rounds...so i said in general terms that all competitors in ISSF events use over and under 12 gauge... for fun you can use anything... If your serious in competing its better to buy a good over and under 12 gauge i guess...

this type of gun is designed for law enforcement not for civilian use, so o am afraid that you cannot even hold this gun.
3" means chamber length of that gun.usually shotgun having 2 3/4" , 3" are there. If 3" chamber length it can fire more projectiles compared to 2 3/4" chamber.

Thank you everybody for your replies.
Actually I am very new to shooting. And I am 20 so I can't even apply for a License now.
I am just stocking up on information now so I don't have to worry 3-4 years ago.
And anyways, the website of KelTec says that those guns are for civilians so "the barrel length has been made as much as possible Legally".
Well,I liked that gun very much,Indian made guns are so ugly,..but I guess I cannot have it in this life.I am really very disappointed!!
But can I get if ,say, I become a "Renowned Shot" ?

In the US, technically, you can use any shotgun for trap or skeet, including the Keltec KSG. However, I think you would have a very hard time hitting clay pigeons with one as they certainly were not designed with wing shooting in mind. I don't think and serious competitive trap or skeet shooter would use a KSG. KSG's are really short, handy shotguns and can be used by the military (breaching, CQB), law enforcement, home defense, hunting (slugs), etc. They are very compact and have a large ammunition capacity (14 + 1 rounds).
And anyways, the website of KelTec says that those guns are for civilians so "the barrel length has been made as much as possible Legally".
What they are talking about here is that the shotgun meets the American BATFE rules for a legal gun: 16" barrel (minimum) and 26" overall length. The KSG with its 18.5" barrel is 26.1" long. Keltec is a small company and many of their guns like the KSG and the RFB are much sought after but production is not even close to demand and they are hard to find.

You can! Study hard, get good grades and do your higher education in the US. If you are able to get permanent residency here, you will be able to own as many guns as you want. It's not easy but it can be done.
