Your best chance would be to write the manufacturer, giving a description of the gun and its serial number. The "code" you are referring to are proof marks, and dimensional information. No date code.

Can't say about imported guns but most of the Indian made guns have a custom of mentioning the manufacturing year in the gun's serial number.
For eg. I have Modern o/u and it's serial no. is 30895-08. '08' denotes the year in which it was manufactured.
My father-in-law has an Indian made gun and it's serial no. is 12354-91. It was made in '1991'.
My father has a gun whose serial no. is 8100006. It was made in '81'
From the pics you have posted I can see 92 written at the end of the serial no. therefore chances are that your gun may have been manufactured in 1992. But as I said I am not 100% sure for imported guns.
Hope this helps...

Let us know the manufacturer first.

For sure this is not a British gun, since it does not comply to the proof marking law.
Cheers....
