No one has being able to evaluate both these guns side by side, but you can find loads of information on both the guns on this forum.
For modern you can see this
http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=5302
and for khairuddin
http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php ... 5&start=15
But again these are just pointers, if you search you will get many more.
Above all, i believe in your city, if you visit gun dealers, you should be able to locate both and feel them and try them.

Sure try them, if any one has them in your circle and do post your experience on the forum, as it will benefit a lot of ppl.
I am not sure if modern is closed. Mehar Singh and Khurmi are closed for sure.
Khairuddin dont make O/U with 30inch, they make it with 28- 28.5 inch. They will be making new lot with 30 inch, but that will be available only by end of this year or next year.

I dont know too many ppl who sell guns.
I have dealt with Khairuddin ppl only.
For imported guns, i believe punjab market is loaded with that
, so do a search around.
You can also read this thread and get in touch with the member, may be he will be able to guide you better as he is from Punjab only, so he might have done R&D before what he bought.

??????? do you mean that modern stopped manufacturing shotguns in 1998?
If yes, then it's not so. I own a modern o/u which is manufactured in 2008.

Thanks for giving the pointers. Do you own the single trigger Ver of the Moder, if yes then can you give some feedback as to what is the weight of the gun, how does it handle.
