Congrats,beautiful gun.
How much did it cost you.
Cause of 2 1/2 " chamber ammo selection would be kind of restircted.
Happy shooting.
Best

Awesome deal given that it is a Purdey,& considering that W & S have been quoted at a higher price down South.Lots of history behind too.
Thanks

Good grief ! Rs.175,000 ? I make that about £2,100........Depending on the age and condition that`s conservatively about a quarter of what it`s worth in the UK.
Unfortunately the pictures of the gun are very dark due to being underexposed so we can`t really see much of the gun......and the letter is too small for me to be able to read it. Anyway, from what I can see, it looks a super gun.
Perhaps sometime you could take some better photographs so that we could have a better look ?
I`m just trying to think what my `first love` as regards a gun was - I have to admit that I can`t remember ...... and anyway, I`m not exactly constant as regards my gun loves because they tend to change rather frequently. Fickle - that`s me !

Very good looking gun. Where do you get to shoot it ? Clays?

Its more of a collectible rather than a gun I would say.I havent really given it a try as yet.My uncle owns a farm about 40 kms from here and we generally go there to shoot. One is a fixed choke and the other is a modified choke.

A Purdey sidelock will always remain an excellent gun to shoot with. Pity the trade is slowly dying down now.

2 1/2 inch no problem. Still plenty of ammo made.
