At last I have got a prized possesion, my grand uncle's 12 bore side by side. It says Alfa made in Germany Hamburg. Do any of you have any clues about the company would like to know a bit of history about the company. I will try and post some pictures as soon as possible. I need some help in restoring the weapon to its original condition. Suggestions are welcome.

Regards,
drifter.

Nagarifle thanks a ton for the help.

vrohan59,

I have fired only one shot so far, when I load the gun only the 1st trigger is working there is slip in the second trigger. The gun has been neglected for a very long time.
Most probably will be giving the gun for servicing(bluing, wood polish and mechanisim) today. I will keep you guys posted on the progress.

Would appreciate it if anyone has info about the history of the company ALFA. I am trying to restore it back to the original shape. I dont know if the butt has been changed can anyone identify by looking at the pictures.

Regards,
drifter.

i emailed grumpy who said regarding alfa company " All I know is that the company made military arms in WWII, including a sub-machine gun. Obviously never a major manufacturer and one that seems to have had quite a short life"

"Alfa" was a German trading company, not a manufacturer. Shotguns with an "Alfa" name may be either German or Belgian. The "Alfa" submachine gun was Spanish, post-WWII, I believe. No connection to the other, German, "Alfa".

Dear Nagarifle and tworivers,

Thanks for the info, on the barrel it says made in Hamburg Germany. Rest of the letters are erased due to its age. Tried asking my uncle about the origion of the gun and how he got it but all he remembers is that it was gifted to my granduncle probably 50 - 60 years ago.

drifter.
