Finally i purchase a 12 bore dbbl gun IOF make lining model (starting model) with 2 3/4 inch chamber having choke barell in original condition from one of mine friend,s gun hs in kanpur for 30,000 rs, will post u pics very soon

Nice to hear the price. I too have an IOF gun in my collection Serial no. is 540 .Must be a really early model.

IOF has make his first dbbl 12 bore gun lining model in which barell was imported from BSA gun which is same used in BSA guns and gun assembled in india,so it is totally imported barell with indian manufacturing having full choke gun written on it,its a very good gun in this price as the cost of the bsa gun in market is around 50,000 rs

dear Sirs!

Once I visitde Trade Fair in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. There I saw a 12 Bore shotgun of I O F with magazine for five shots. If I purchase this one from somewhere, what is the reliability of this one. I have visited 3-4 Arms dealers in my locality, but I couldn`t saw it. Someone may guide me accordingly.

This morning I met a gentleman who was of the view that early IOF shotguns, which still command premium prices in India, are comparable to BSA shotguns and some of the more mediocre European guns. There are people who buy IOF shotguns with their eyes shut but I would like to present some facts about early IOF shotguns.

Congratulations on your 'new' shotgun.Enjoy it.However the story of BSA made barrels is just that, a story popularized by some dealers to gullible buyers to make a fast buck.

I don't know why fellow members in forum backing stories of imported barrels Like IOF DBBL barrels from BSA ,all fabricated and many more false stories .
All stories are false there is no rocket technology in making barrels, any of you can visit gun manufacturers in jammu.

Jaz,

There is a lot of BS that has been repeated so often that it is taken to be gospel truth.

BS No.1. Some IOF SxS had BSA made barrels.

BS No. 2. The IOF .315 rifle has an aluminium bolt.If it did have an aluminium bolt at the first shot it would fly off the receiver and implant itself int he shooters skull

(New BS after the IOF 30-06 rifle came out)

BS No.3 The barrels are made on Steyr (the gun manufacturer) made machines.The fact of the matter is that Steyr, the gun maker makes no such machines.They may be made in Steyr but not by Steyr

BS No. 4 The initial batch of IOF 30-06 rifles had Steyr made barrels.Oh yeah! Steyr would be making barrels for a Sauer clone
