Hi Nagarifle,ngrewal,
Had read in the customs handbook of baggage rules that one can only bring one firarm in your lifetime on a TR.Was trying to reconfirm what MoA was saying.
Regarding cartridges,as ngrewal says,it does make sense when you evaluate the pain and hassles at a foriegn airport,to buy it in india.
Regards

Arm yes, it makes sense. every bit of it as cheapest of the decent .12 bore O/U will not cost less than 2.5lac-3lac.
Ammo, i dont think so, unless it would be something which u are not getting in india. But .12 Bore, you can get even the import ammo at 55 a piece in many shops.
So i wont suggest putting effort for .12 50 Ammo.

Hi Sa_ali,
imported ammo @rs55 exactly which city and which shop.
The bombay butchers are selling indian ammo for 55-60.Only my friend at banson makes an exception for me.
About bringing ammo,It does make sense what you and other members on the forum say.
Definitely ammo is out of list and only a premium 12bore or .22 remains on wishlist.
Wishing everything works out as it has been chalked out.
Regards and thankyou again to you and all other forum members for their good advice.
Thats what friends are for...............goes the saying

Prior to 2001 my Uncle on a trip to US and other friends had bought 50 cartridges or per the lic endorsed ammo amount. They bought the ammo in a state where no permit is required for purchasing ammo. Then declared the ammo at the US airport with proper documentation and did the same at New Delhi. Again this was pre 2001. Its best to check the laws at the destination country ..

Re: BUYING 12 BORE CARTRIDGES ABROAD
I tried searching but couldnt locate it. I had asked the same question something like 2 yr back and that time there was very detailed reply by one of the members.
I had got 50 Ammo box along with him.
He had listed all the dos and dont and in the end had mentioned its not worth it.
If i get it i will post the link
