As per arms act any part of a weapon will be considered as a weapon . Export/import of weapons are banned . You can only repair it

If someone one is traveling, then you can ask that person to get. We have seen few member who were successful in that.
Ordering it by post, it is legally not allowed, only a renowned shot can import gun and its spare.

Dont know of any shop keeper stocking it, we have list of those in the yellow pages section so you can try calling them and asking them.

As far as my limited knowledge goes, any gun part that is directly associated with the firing mechanism is strictly restricted. Barrels, Triggers, Firing pins, Hammers, Sears all fall under it. I remember having the grip safety of my pistol confiscated only because the sender labeled it as a gun part. I even had to pay the fine on top of it. Pretty dicey in short.

one more thing, what if I take the gun along with me and get it repaired and bring it?Is there any provision for this? I mean I declare it while going itself. get it endorsed on passport and bring it back.

All Gurus please help on this
Hi,

It's a late reply, but yes, you can take your weapon officially and get it repaired.

The OEM can also make you a barrel with the same serial number if it can't be revived.

Personally experienced with Perazzi, Italy.

Warm regards,

Hi,

You can get it at the respective State Rifle Association of your State, or, from the National Rifle Association of India.

You need to be a shooter registered with the NRAI.

Otherwise, based on your location you need to enquire with the local Arms and Ammunition dealer.

Hi,

You cannot import if you are not a Renowned Shot in any shotgun discipline.

It's best to contact the OEM, they will point you to their authorised person.

Otherwise, go to the Shooting range, someone will guide you.

Regards!

PS: Please never post in ALL CAPS, here it is considered non-gentlemanly :)
