Unfortunately, purchase of weapons in India is not like purchasing vegetables at the market like in United States,
No one can purchase the gun at Home, either you book directly from the manufacturer where you have to go to the factory and do the formalities or you can buy it from a dealer where you will be expected to go do the formalities with proper NOC and documentation and more importantly a valid vacant arms license.
Even after Purchase you have to fulfill formalities like "description" where in you have to go to the arms licensing branch which normally is inside the commissioner of police's office where you have to show the purchased weapon to the concerned officer, where he acknowledges the serial number and then pastes it into your license after signing it.
So Its not that SIMPLE. Its also illegal to contain a weapon if its not on your license, for someone to carry your gun she/he should have your "power of attorney" for weapon which is altogether a different, difficult and detailed process.
