A punt gun it is. But it is a SXS which is not very common these days.

It`s the only double punt gun that I`ve ever seen and, whilst the bore isn`t given ( looks to be around 1.5 inches ) the brass cartridges are enormously long.

Interesting spring based recoil reduction system as well.

I just wonder how thrilling it must be to be able to have one or two shots with that thing on a nice day. You need not clear the flock. Just bagging one or two for the pot should be very satisfying.
Looking at the prices of 8 bores these days, a punt gun like this is not expensive at all.More bang for the buck literally.

I`d love a day messing about with this gun and the punt.
Wouldn`t have to hit anything but just shooting the thing - both barrels - would be pretty awesome.
I wonder how far shooting it would move the punt ? Who needs an outboard motor when you have punt gun power ?!

With that device aboard, I'd feel more like Nelson at The Nile than out on a hunt!
Seriously, who could resist an opportunity of touching that thing off? Thanks for sharing!
