Gun raising to the shoulder is excellent but he should mount the gun higher on his shoulder. He would avoid having to tilt his neck forward and lower it so far to put his cheek on the comb.

By mounting this way, his neck and head are in an unnatural posture. He also has to look "up" to see along the rib. (His eyes are near the tops of their sockets.)

Shooting using this posture, tires both the eyes and neck. This can lead to flawed swings and invites head-raising during swings.

A natural and upright shooting posture is best in the eyes of most modern trainers and instructors.
