Vikram,
In several parts of North America, automobile insurance premiums are adjusted on the success or failure of hunting seasons. The problem is that large numbers of cars are damaged by deer, elk and moose - I drive through two forest rpeserves when I pick up or drop my wife off at work and it could be scary driving there at night as Chicago does not allow hunting and there have been several occasions when deer have leaped out before the car while I drove at 50 mph or faster.
I wish the anti hunting idiots could have a look at this and see what hunting and conservation are really about!

Had a friend who was stationed in Air Base in Alaska. During mating season these hunks can take fancy to anything moving or not including parked cars, runninig human beings etc..

Mack The Knife,
In the People's Republic of Illinois the average resident is basically anti hunting and you don;t get exotic game meats in the stores. But in Wisconsin where I sued to live, moose, elk, buffalo and other game meats were sold in the stores. The stuff is very expensive at $ 8 /lb and I didn't buy it while we lived there, but, if oyu come here, I shall be most happy to get some for you.
As far as these road incidents are concerned, it is the duty of highway patrol officers to humanely put down any animal that has been killed and then after writing the insurance report out, the person whose vehicle got hit is given the carcass if they want it, unless it is a deer from a CWD area in which case it is destroyed. I doubt someone whose car has been totalled would really even be able to express how the meat tasted even if they ate the animal that they hit.

You mean you moved to Illinois because you lost the suit?
Sorry, I'll get my get my coat...shortly.
If you think $8 / Pound is expensive prepare yourself for a shock because mutton is Rs.180 / kg now.
What does CWD stand for?
I doubt someone whose car has been totalled would really even be able to express how the meat tasted even if they ate the animal that they hit.
I guess that would depend on how much he/she is supposed to get back from insurance. In some cases it could be a god-sent and the meat a bonus. Inder could even have the head mounted....

Chronic wasting disease (CWD) is a fatal nervous system disease known to naturally infect deer species. Its something like Mad Cow if I am not wrong.
Why you drag me in always....
But on the second thought.. I ll pass this one head is not so impressive

Thanks, Inder. Any idea how one identifies a deer with CWD?
