Can anyone tell me the procedure for odering from cabelas and from where to collect the items and what has to be done

You can pay online via ur Credit card and if you chose Air Shipping then items will be delivered to your doorstep via UPS courier. There will be a customs duty of approx 15%. I think its not a viable source. You can get stuff from other sites for cheaper rates.

Kindly suggest the other sites that offer at cheaper rates.

Will there not be a custom check .................like opening the package............the main concern is that once the package reaches India it should not get damaged while inspecting........I have heard lot of stories of mishandeling...............I was palnning to get fishing rod

I am sure many rods are available in India and its better to deal it there incase you are worried about parcel being compromised.

Cabela is one of the most reasonable places other option is shipping to a 'friendly mule' in US who can bring it.

Parcel will be opened in presence of UPS people but they take proper care. You can try ebay for cheaper options.
