False report, doc. She took some bullets and went down without stopping him. Her male partner brought him down. Too bad he didn't put a few more rounds in the terrorist's groin for good measure.

The whole incident could have been neutralized before 13 people had to die. Only if the soldiers present at Fort Hood who by the way are trained solely to handle weaponry and various so called "Dangerous Things" were allowed to carry weapon in there. DoD in US doesn't allow CCW even to the permit holders in places like Ft Hood. So when that nutjob came in both guns blazing the soldiers had nothing to fight back with.
I believe the word to be used here is disgusting.

I don't disgree with you, doc, in terms of her intent. But the facts are that the initial story was false, as is frequently the case when the US media has a chance to pin the badge of "heroine" on a woman.Women are, by law, not allowed in frontline combat jobs in the US military and a lot of the unthinking with no military experience resent it. So they puff up stories of this nature. It might have happened asthe media said. But it didn't.

Hats off to all of the soldiers and the folks who are fighting on the ground for all of us.
Its hard to define front line troops -- even the support units such as transportation, supply etc these days are involved in the war effort. 35 women soldiers have died and close 250 sacrificed their lives. So lets give the credit where it is due. . I think you will agree with this.
Similarly for this tragic episode both these officers responded separately and she did take a bullet which accounts for something ...delayed this terrorist and allowed Sgt Todd to take him out.
