Dear friends,
I'm going to be moving to Patna for a few months. I wanted some input from those here that know:
What are some of the safest area's (colonies) to live in Patna?
Best,
BJL

It depends on where your place of work is going to be. You wouldn't want to be driving along exasperating traffic twice a day. Kankar bagh is supposed to be or was the only properly organised colony developed by the govt and where gentry from good old times reside. The area opposite Patna Golf course is also good and one sees a lot of apartments there. Then there is another Boring canal road area that is also okay. In the city itself the apartment culture has caught on fully and good accommodation can be located with the help of property agents. Patna is over-populated and badly congested but is a big city and very well connected by train and air. To Delhi I think no other place offers the excellent train service that Patna does.
So, please go with an open mind. You'll meet a lot of extremely nice and respectful people. The other kind you do not have to associate with. Iam sure that when the time comes for you to leave you'll remember it as a good stay.
By the way, I don't belong to Patna or Bihar. Just had a tenure there.
