Illegal guns/ gun owners. They give us all a bad name.

Indian police seize illegal gun factories, arrest thousands ahead of general elections

NEW DELHI, March 14 (Xinhua) -- Indian police have discovered 12 illegal gun "factories" and have arrested thousands of hooligans in the northern state of Bihar ahead of the general elections to be held next month, the private Indo-Asian News Service Saturday.

Police have arrested 12,900 people with arrest warrants from courts in the state and have seized 55 illegal weapons "in a drive launched against trouble-makers", said the report.

The illegal guns could be used by thugs to disrupt the polling next month in the service of some corrupt politicians, said the report.

Police are having 53,000 additional arrest warrants pending in their hands to crack down on thugs and hooligans in the state, according to the report.

Bihar, one of the most impoverished states in India, is known for violence in the elections of the past, with hundreds killed in the various national and local polls over the past 10 years.

How many people? How many guns? And people are supposed to believe that? Gotta watch out for those "trouble-makers".

What!? 53,000 warrants? Are they arresting every one not wearing a coat & tie & dirty fingernails? Ahhh, the Chinese press, always good for a laugh.

Yeah, heh, the numbers are pretty ridiculous. Imagining the Bihar police and judicial system processing all that makes it hard to swallow.
