hi,
i always thought about this but was not in any capacity to talk although i had seen the paypal link in the forum, this forum has given us so much in knowledge, friends and confidence to the sport, and i just thought the importance of contributing something to aid its existance other than all the posts that everybody does here, just not for the bullets but for its existance forever, not that abhijeet needs it but as a gesture of appreciating the forum itself.
i saw for the first time ads in the forum and i felt to raise the topic ,since i thought may be this was the only forum which didnt have any!
Abhijeet i know the difficulties you may have come across earlier and to manage it finely over the years and if this topic was discussed earlier about the need or no need of advertisements.i would like to donate a small cheque ,again not that you wud really need it,but just so that one ad gets reduced.
thanx and cheers.Always would love the unclattered look of the forum.
Warm regards sanjiv

The ads are from Google and over the next week or so should "tune themselves" to display adverts that are relevant to the content/ subject matter of this forum. It's already happening, I spotted an ad by Cabela's just a few minutes ago... and I personally don't think they are particularly obtrusive...
I thank you gentlemen for your kind offers of support, the thought is truly appreciated
but for now the ads are here to stay - at least for the next few months while I evaluate their performance in terms of generating revenue towards the general upkeep of the site.
Cheers!
Abhijeet

OK, I've given this some further thought and if we can raise enough money via donations to pay for site expenses, I'm willing to do away with the advertisements.
Have enabled the Donate via PayPal feature on the left hand navigation of this site, so anyone who wishes to contribute towards running IFG may donate money without much hassle. If you wish to donate anonymously (your name will not appear on the list of donors) you will need to tick mark the relevant checkbox at the time of making the donation.
Cheers!
Abhijeet
P.S. - Needless to say, there will be NO distinction maintained between those who donate and those who do not. This is completely voluntary and whether or not/ how much/ etc. you choose to donate is entirely your call.

Donations can be made via PayPal by clicking on the following link -
http://indiansforguns.com/lwdonate.php
If anyone wishes to use some other means of making a donation, feel free to PM me.
Cheers!
Abhijeet
P.S. - I forgot to mention PayPal is currently accepting only funds in USD, so that would make the minimum amount per donation to be 1 USD. However, if you prefer to use some other means to make a donation (bank transfer, cheque, DD etc.), there is NO lower or upper limit.

Abhijeet,
I don't use PayPal. If one were to send a cheque or Demand Draft, who is it payable to?

Abhijeet,
I also do not use Paypal.
Actually I have boycotted pay pal after reading in the airgunbbs.com that accounts of many members were frozen and they were subjected to harassment after paying for air guns through pay pal which is against their policy. Paypal actively discourages payments for firearms/airguns etc to be paid for through it and victimizes such users.

Yep, happened to a friend in Texas who purchased some ammo and used his Paypal account.
Alternate routes required, will speak to you about it.

Cheques/ DDs etc. should be made out to "Abhijeet Singh", and preferably payable at par in Delhi. Alternatively, one could make a direct transfer to my ICICI bank a/c, for details (address/ bank details etc. send me a PM).
If someone wishes to remain anonymous, you will have to send me a PM requesting to withhold your username from the donor list - by default all members who make a donation will have their usernames added to the donor list at -

I was not aware of PayPal's anti-gun stance, but unfortunately this software offers no built in support for any other means of receiving payments online. BTW PayPal
DOES NOT require you to have an account with them to make a donation,
you can use any valid credit card to make the donation.
Cheers!

Will work something out.

Quick update to all, we have so far received total donations of US$ 216.00 via PayPal, which less their charges brings the total in our kitty to US$ 205.62 There's another contribution of US$25.00 which has been made but will take a couple of days for the cheque to clear. May I take this opportunity to thank all those who have contributed their hard earned money towards this sites upkeep, including those nameless benefactors who have chosen to remain anonymous
Cheers!

That'll happen only once IFG has it's own account etc. - can't accept more than a certain limit on my own name... wouldn't want to confuse the taxman...
But good suggestion all the same
