Dear Friends,

Those of us who are replacing our old IOF weapons for the newly manufactured Indian weapons are being paid a paltry sum for our old weapons, some of which have not even been fired even once. Prices quoted by Dealers in Delhi range from Rs 15000 to Rs 25000. Is this true for other locations too ? what is a more reasonable offer then ?

With negligible new arms license being issued in the country and with launch of new handguns almost everyday, this was expected.

Buy still prices are somewhat better in Punjab than you have mentioned.

Yes its true , the price of used iof handgun is dropped significantly. I have sold mine in prestine condition at 25k , fired less then 20 rounds though it .
If you need to have an idea about current market price watch this

Dear Friends,

I was at a respected Gun Dealer in Delhi and he informed me that old and secondhand shotguns and double barrel guns are no longer saleable. So owners have started abandoning them with dealers. He personally has over 175 old guns such as the above, which the owners have refused to pick up or pay rental for various reasons. My brother a retired Colonel has a old Double barrel(Indian) which he hasn't fired in about 10 years , has no buyer since he wants to sell it and is stuck with it since no Dealer wants it even for free.
He and other dealers of Delhi have approached the Police for a solution but even the depositing them with the "Mal Khana" is not viable as they too have no space to keep these.
Quite an issue, as normally in India, the Gun Dealers have limited space and that space has been occupied by old guns, no one wants.
I wonder if there's a solution to this ... any ideas ??
