Death Involving Licensed Firm Arms as Reported by NCRB:
Sir, As against a total of 356 deaths involving licensed fire arms in one year (2015), we witness 415 deaths on a daily basis on our roads involving vehicles. This clearly shows that:
a) We should enforce far a stricter licensing regimen for vehicles,
b) Sufficient room exists where we can be more flexible with gun licenses.
Currently, maximum restrictions appear to be in place for the acquisition of guns while millions of guns are deployed all over the world ensuring peace and stability, protecting life and property 24 hours a day and 7 days a week

Re: DEATH INVOLVING LICENSED FIRM ARMS AS REPORTED BY NCRB:
How many of the 356 deaths were adjudged as 'self defence'? How many of the other 3366 victims were unarmed? The answers may be interpreted for or against abolishing gun licensing. But what is incontovertible is that a majority of the 3722 victims would have had a fair chance to defend themselves, had they possessed guns. I think that gun license should be issued after background check like for passport issuance, and a shooting test similar to driving test for vehicle. No justification should be required.

It's a irony that the licence is required only by the law abiding citizens for self defense, goons are born with a right to bear arms and use them for offense.
