Arms Act case against youth for shooting birds

Chandrayangutta police registered an Arms Act case against a 19-year-old youth for practising bird hunting in the Old City on Tuesday evening. The culprit has been identified as Abdul Nahid of Jamal Kunta.
On Tuesday evening, Nahid went to his uncle's house at Ismail Nagar of Chandrayangutta and picked up his air gun.Nahid then rode on his bike to a place full of trees in Ismail Nagar and shot two quails.
Meanwhile, a police patrolling party noticed Nahid brandishing an air gun and practising bird hunting at the public place.
“Though no licence is required to use an air gun by farmers, one cannot use at public spaces for hunting. So, we have seized the weapon and booked a case against Nahid under the Arms Act,“ Chandrayangutta inspector Y Prakash Reddy said.
