Kargil Vijay Divas

As you gear up to start the day, think of the date 26th July (not for the Mumbai floods) but the year 1999, when

- 527 Jawans, JCOs and Officers of the Indian Army laid down their lives during Op Vijay which culminated this day ,

- 1367 men were grievously injured, The War was fought at heights over 18000 feet, inhospitable rugged terrain , steep mountains ....

- 4 Param Vir Chakras , 9 Mahavir Chakras, 55 Vir Chakras,

- Tiger Hill, Tololing Peak, Pts 4875, 4590 to name a few,

- The Likes of Captains Vikram Batra, Manoj Pandey, Rajesh Adihikari made the supreme sacrifice at young age as less as 23....

- For them the Nation rose above Self.

- Shed a small Tear of pride today as we remember the fallen in all their glory for our tomorrow.
