Shipwrecks in the Great Lakes

Post by xl_target » Fri May 01, 2015 2:20 am

The Great Lakes between Canada and The USA are a great resource to both countries. They are some of the largest freshwater lakes in the world.
Today, after years of effort, fighting against pollution like acid rain, industrial and agricultural runoff, the lakes are cleaner than before.

During some parts of the year, they are phenomenally clear and long submerged shipwrecks are suddenly visible with startling clarity.
Here is an article on Buzzfeed that shows some of those photos:

Very interesting read, each one of those wrecks would have a story to tell including that of many lucky and some not so lucky people and their families.

Thanks for sharing.

Very interesting and exciting, especially for treasure hunters. Dirk Pitt watch out - here they come!
