I found this article on the BBC Web Edition News today, and I thought that someone might enjoy it more than I did.
This fellow draws cartoons of Bangalore, so I'm not able to simply cut-and-paste it here -- you'll have to click the link to check it out:
Bangalore cartoonist draws 'good old days'
Enjoy (I hope!)

Saw this on Facebook a few days ago.
That's the Bangalore that I remember, except that it was in the early 1970's.
It was not the giant Metropolis that it is now.
The cantonment area was like a sleepy small town. A great place to grow up.
I remember blackout practice during the 1971 war.
Riding my bicycle down Brigade road on the way to school when I was in the 6th and 7th standard; hardly any traffic.
I remember when the cops got their "cowboy" hats.
Today, Koshi's is complaining that his customers won't let him modernize his place so it still looks pretty much the same.
Coffee House, Toyland, Bata Wayfinders; I used to have a pair (They had a little compass in the heel of the shoe), the smells of Russel Market before it burned down.
Lots of memories.
I probably wouldn't recognize much today.
