There is no need for any certificate. As far as i have heard. I got my license 2 years now and had purchased ammo 2 times now... no one asked me for one.

Cheers

:agree: Nothing within your annual quota as mentioned in you license. If you want to increase your quota the LA may ask where have you used your ammo. I would tell them at my state level rifle association.....

First, please elaborate where and why are you being asked to provide such a certificate.

Secondly, there is no provision for such a certificate under the Arms Rules. If the LA is asking for such a certificate, please ask him under what section/ clause of the Arms Act and the Arms Rule is he asking for it, in writing? If a dealer is asking you for it, he's pulling a fast one on you.

+ !.

I suspect some local LA somewhere has come up with a new brainchild. For example, I recently heard that someone in the Arms Act Department at Kolkata Police headquarters recently asked a licence holder to get a certificate from his club, stating that he had exhausted his quota and could be permitted to buy more ammo. I am yet to track down this licence holder for a first person account but I heard it from a good source.

Farook- This is an old post. And it is true that a few competition shooters sell their ammo to make a quick buck. However, It would not be the same with normal licensees like me and many others. As the ammo quote provided is not even sufficient for practice-self defense.

lssandhuinns1- And I would recommend you to visit a few other gun brokers. In fact, we can bargain the price of ammo and guns provided we have some knowledge (actual price, quality, prevailing rates). Most gun brokers sell even the regular goods for premium. And most of the brokers do not ask for any usage certificate.

My last purchase a shop offered me KF 22lr for 25 plus taxes a pop. Second one for 25 including tax and a third one for Rs 950 plus tax. Its a sellers market, I vote for the TATA SKY AD- "pooche mein kya jata hai" :)
