Shooter Ronjan Sodhi was picked for Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award by the selection committee.
Sodhi, currently ranked No. 1, won two silver medals at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and a gold medal at the 2010 Asian Games.
In 2011, he became first Indian to successfully defend a World Cup title in the double trap event.
He is the seventh shooter to receive the award, the country's highest honor for a sportsperson.

The awards will be handed out on the 29th of this month, the National Sports Day.
