Hmm! You'll have to keep us appraised on how it goes.
I've been thinking about those things too.

Last evening I received this in the post...
Not bad and I think I may have finally found something that will help me kick this habit.
I plan on gradually lowering the nicotine strength until I hit zero.

Does this mean you will be less of snapping crocodile in the future? Or will you get even more cranky now that your beloved sticks ( which considerably decreased my life span the last time i was around ) have been substituted by this?

Well done Mac. I read that the electronic ciggies are the best way to beat it without suffering too much of the withdrawal symptoms. Also, I read that nicotine on its own is least harmful, but it's the tar that does most of the damage. All the best and do update regularly about how it goes.
Best-
Vikram

Hmm! You'll have to keep us appraised on how it goes.
I've been thinking about those things too.
Left the real cigs at home and took this electronic contraption along to the site. I think I first lit it up around 0800 and have just popped it into the USB port (1510) to recharge the battery as it got fully discharged 5 minutes ago. That's approximately 7 hours of 'smoking' on one charge, assuming the battery hadn't discharged even a little whilst it was still packed. I am still on the first cartomiser.
The weight is a big negative because I am in the habit of holding the cig with my lips whilst working with both hands and this thing kept falling out. No damage done as I was driving and it fell in my lap. It will need to be clamped with your teeth if you have to smoke and use both hands or you can put it in your pocket.
The pure nicotine gave me a slight headache initially and I am a 80 per day guy when I am working flat out and Wills Navy Cut isn't exactly a mild ciggy. The taste too was different but manageable.
Whilst I did feel like a real puff once in a while, this e-cig kept things under check.
Slingshot has sent me an e-mail on how he gave up the fags. I will ask him to post it up here so that others can benefit from it.
The silly thing is still charging and it's been 25 minutes. May have to get a stand-by or two for those times I do not have a USB port to plug into.
I tried something similar, but the weight put me off.
Was it that white plastic Nicorette thingy which you twist open to pop in a capsule into? Used that in 2010 and it did not work but I was going through hell then. May still have some left.
Does this mean you will be less of snapping crocodile in the future?
Come over and find out.
Which tobacco do you use for the pipe?
Amphora (Full Aroma / Red) and Maison Edwards custom mix # 11 from Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Thanks guys. I wasn't even in the mood to quit but my brother sent this and I thought I would give it a try. Will keep you'll posted.

They used to hit an even hundred at submission time during my college days.
I live on cigs and tea and usually just one meal a day (dinner) and still end up resembling Porky The Pig.
During my fresher year at M.I.T. (Manipal), I did a four full day stint without food or sleep during submission time because going to the canteen could result in a senior taking me to his room to do his work. No tea either, just water from the bogs.
I do this quite often (not four day stints) because once I start working I don't like to quit until the job's done. Gives me more time to play later on.
Now you know why I did not post on that "what's your exercise routine" thread.

Re-posting the original post as it got deleted by mistake by one of our new moderators. Ruddy L - Plate!
Got this in the post yesterday...
http://www.nicolitesonline.co.uk/
First impressions:
1. Not bad.
2. Quite a bit heavy compared to the real thing but holding it towards the centre works.
3. The body is hard and has no 'give' compared to a real cig. Feels a bit odd but I guess I'll get used to it.
I have tried the Nicorette gum and patches earlier but they did not work. However, this e-cig may just do the trick.
Will keep you'll updated.
P.S.: I still reserve the right to have a good cigar or my pipe every now and then.
