French Foreign Legion "Go to Timbuktu".

Post by xl_target » Wed Jan 30, 2013 1:09 am

French army spokesman Colonel Thierry Burkhard has announced, on Monday morning, January 28, 2013, French soldiers of the 2e REP (2nd Foreign Legion Parachute Regiment) were parachuted into strategic points overnight to prepare the way for Malian forces to recapture Timbuktu from Islamist rebels. Two C-130 and three C-160 Transall military transport aircraft drop French paratroops north of the city of Timbuktu to lock access.

The key thing isn't going to be chasing people out of these towns and then pronouncing "mission accomplished." It's going to be rounding them up and putting an end to their murdering and burning once and for all. I think success is going to be defined by prisoner counts and body bags. Otherwise, this may not end well for the French.

The Legionnaires are known to be the best soldiers of the French army; hence the decision. Dirty or clean work, the job has to be done and the best men are the best bet for it.
